It is widely considered to be a generally unflattering look, and is not considered to be a legitimate hairstyle by most professional hairdressers. In popular culture, the comb-over is often a cliche associated with intelligent men (nerds) or a man experiencing a mid life crisis.

I can't for the life of me understand how a man with this 'style' can look in the mirror and say to himself 'yeah im looking good' how!?
