Added JAN 20th 2008
Of course 2008 starts in february everybody knows that! year-of-the-no-january after all.
Anyway this can hold as the first new post in 2008 a list of quality links that I have become aware of.
The first is a site thats documenting hair trends in 2008 it covers celebrity, short and black 2008 hairstyles and lots more.
I recently found an older site that contains lots of in depth articles about hairstyles it doesn’t have much fluffy content and can be a tad dry.
Our own galleries are still very popular and for pictures of hairstyles they can’t be beat.
I just checked the gallery for the first time in a while - its getting pretty popular in there the top gallery has had over 6000 visitors - yay. But the lowest gallery has only had 70 views - thats not cool people, so here’s a list of galleries that need some love.
Layered hair, curly hair, asian hairstyles, braided hairstyles, long hairstyles and medium hairstyles.
Im working on new 2008 hairstyles as a reward!
I’ve been playing with the look of Haircentric recently - it now has 37% more pink than before, and a pretty snappy pin stripe background.
On the content front i’ve been slowly adding new hair galleries we’re now upto 30 and counting - The most popular being 1940’s hairstyles, short hair pictures, 2007 styles and bob hair styles
The hair wiki - where i store all the how-tos, articles and the like is also coming together, although i wouldn’t go in there yet as its pretty hard to navigate - still if your brave.
By the way the wiki can be updated by you - yes you! its easy and fun, if you like writing about hair at least.
I’ve just added a new gallery section. It can be found (here)—>Hair pictures

The Norwich Bulletin has a short piece about 2006 Prom Hairstyles.
They talked to one 17 yr old girl Jessica Bonosconi, who voiced a now popular opinion about updos for prom, ‘You end up with 100 bobby pins in your hair, and tons of hairspray your eyes end up all pulled back and you can’t move your head. It’s horrible.” which is how I kind of feel about updos, although they can look beautiful.
They also talked to a local stylist Tracy Miller “I’m seeing more of a loose, relaxed wave than anything else, Sometimes the top or just part of the hair will be pulled back kind of loosely. That’s what the celebrities are doing.“
The celebrities who’s hair she gets the most request for are Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas.
Miller also said that “They’re going for the red carpet look, and more for what’s in style. They know what it was like to be girls in tight braids, and they don’t want that anymore”
But as Jessica Bonosconi voiced their are other things apart from hair to worry about ‘
… between the dress, the shoes and the date, I have enough to worry about …
I’m more worried about how to dance in my dress than I am about my hair.‘
Cherie Blair - The cost of style
0 Comments Published April 24th, 2006 in Everything, Celebrity Hairstyles, Hair Wiki. The Hair news of the day is that Cherie Blair, wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair spent $14,000 for one months worth of hair styling, during last years general election. This works out to a cool $500-ish a day. While I don’t care about this in the slightest - I’m posting about it because you have to assume that all A-list stars also spend similar amounts on keeping themselves looking good. It really makes you feel like their looks are completely un-obtainable, not only were the like of J Lo and Jennifer Aniston born beautiful they can spend such large amounts of cash on their looks.

I’ve written some celebrity hair how-tos over on the hair wiki - their not perfect or finished and they could do with some pictures and polishing. But please feel free to have a look. As of yet there’s no Cherie how-to but if someone would like to write one that would be great.
The wiki itself is in a bit of disarray as it is a work in progress - so please no nasty comments about it, also as it is a wiki - your welcome to improve upon what you find.
While I quite like the look of this front page - it clean and simple, its also bland and generic. So over the next few days I’l be working on a new look for the site - and tying it in to the wiki so everything blends together. Im not a web designer so it should be fun to see what I an come up with.
